 Acclaimed author Aggie Wiggs (played by Claire Danes) has retreated from public life following the tragic death of her young son. Unable to write, she lives as a ghost of her former self. 

Her quiet world is disrupted when the house next door is bought by Nile Jarvis (played by Matthew Rhys), a charismatic real-estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance. At once curious and wary, Aggie becomes consumed by his presence. What begins as fascination slowly turns into obsession as she embarks on a dangerous investigation into his past.
