On the Arm: The Aughts Bag Revival
The early 2000s are back—and this time, it’s all about the arm candy. Chemena Kamali’s revival of the iconic Chloé Paddington bag, spotted in the Fall 2025 runway show, has already stirred excitement, with fans joining waitlists to get their hands on the updated design.
Close in spirit to the original Paddington, these new silhouettes strike the perfect balance: not too small, not too oversized. They’re the ultimate designer “day bags”—practical, stylish, and effortlessly chic.
The trend isn’t exclusive to Chloé either. Similar aughts-inspired shapes appeared at Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton, and Fendi, proving that the slouchy, arm-draped carry is officially back. And the styling at both Chloé and Miu Miu reminds us of how most of us actually wear our bags in daily life—tucked in the crook of the arm or dangling casually from the forearm.
It seems the aughts have found their modern groove, and the designer day bag is once again the piece
